Went for dinner this evening with my daughter and a friend and her daughter. What May5678 doesn't like about The Gate:
We visited the Gate with friends recently. The decor is amazing. However, food and service was a mixed bag. The fish and chips were enjoyed, but the slow cooked pork was thoroughly disappointing. It mainly consisted of two small strips of pork belly and two tiny scallops. What there was of the pork, was overcooked and dry. Definitely not as described and extremely poor value for money. The menu card of the restaurant is also suitable for vegetarians, as there are meals that entirely abstain from meat, in addition there is a wide choice of vegan dishes on the menu. They provide you a selection of gluten-free meals as well.
