This charming, traditional pub exudes a cozy atmosphere with a fantastic owner. The food here is top-notch, featuring delicious specials and locally sourced ingredients. Don't be fooled by its exterior, as the inside is surprisingly spacious. View all feedback.
What quillboy doesn't like about The Rose And Crown:
Having dined on a number of occasions we have noticed a decline in menu and quality of food. Still good but not up to previous high standard. Service continues to be good. View all feedback.
Back here again for my walking group Christmas lunch and just the same efficient service and great ambience. The food was excellent quality and came as always in very generous helpings. It’s very impressive that a small village pub managed to serve a group of 32 people with such apparent ease. Full marks to landlord Geoff and his team.
Last Tuesday I came to the pub for dinner with my husband, can I just say the service was amazing, this lovely young lady took such great care of us, and will definitley be the reason for our return, the food was magnificent I recommend the pork medallion!
Had Sunday lunch with my girlfriend today, food was very good, service ok but I have to mention the welcome. The lady behind the bar, middle aged, brown hair, eating choc biscuits and texting needs to smile more and be a little more ‘hospitable’ Not really welcoming ... quite miserable actually.
I love going to the Rose and crown and joining in with the happy jolly conversations of the locals. Meeting jeff the miserable landlord and the strange regulars makes me realise that things aren’t quite as bad as they could be…thanks everyone! See customer service is still a number one priority
Jeff is a miserable old so and so but he runs a splendid pub Rhonda can be OK if you get her on a good day but the staff are superb, the beer well kept and a good selection of wines
