Spent a pleasant few hours in a quaint old pub which would have been in the middle of nowhere when it was built maybe 300 years ago ? When things were built by eye ! What Puttmans doesn't like about Royal Oak:
Visited the royal Oak a few Sunday's back for a spot of lunch. i used to frequent this public house on a regular basis but as you do, I drifted away, so first time back for me in a while. The restaurant is run separately from the pub and they are trying hard to make a go of it. New owners, new atmosphere about the place, and considering its at the end of my Road.. I'll now happily go there. Plans for food in the very near future, all ladies kno how to pull a pint, dog friendly and kid friendly too, smash a Sunday roast and couldn't ask from my local... Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Lovely old timber-framed building. My pint of Old Speckled Hen was excellent. Prices reasonable and service very friendly. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

They had a singer this Saturday doing rat pack songs which was a welcome accompaniment. The staff were lovely and the drinks were a good price . Thanks to all at the Royal Oak for a lovely evening .
