I came to Timaru to get a dog. Ends to quite late at the time when we picked up the dog, so I "takes near me" and selected the first 5-star business I saw. It turned out that it was just around the corner from where we were, so we moved out and the place was PACKED! This is obviously a good sign that the tucker is top notch! Would have given more stars but this time around the chips, fish and hot dogs for two families was so greasy it made for a bad meal. Everyone commented on how greasy the meal was. The paper food was wrapped in was soaked in grease and this is no exaggeration it was bad. Their fish is lovely tasting and would have been perfect but it was so greasy the batter fell off. "I don't really like Indian food. I'm expect some is OK but in 70 years all I've found is meat so overcooked it's utterly characterless. Sauces so laden with things like yogurt and ghee that after a meal I just feel like a blob. Prices that just don't make any sense. I've eaten so many cuisines I've lost count but the only one I've not ever really liked are Indian. I'd probably fare better if an Indian person could guide me but on every such occasion I've come away dissatisfied. Paid a large price for a tiny dish I'd not ever think of eating if it was not for me being social. Add to that this restaurant is in an earthquake prone building and I'm wondering if I'd ever go back. I'll look towards being convinced otherwise. Perhaps to do so won't cost me a fortune for what is basically mass preproduced street food."
