"I was hesitant to eat here at first because of it's odd location but as we were staying in a cabin nearby I went over to have a look. First good sign, as I got close the smell of good bbq was wafting out of the smoker. Entering I saw a nice funky space that a good bbq place should have. So looking at the menu everything looks good so we select a three protein combo, brisket, pulled pork, and jerk chicken, and three sides, cowboy beans, potato salad and cole slaw. The brisket was top notch, super melt in your mouth tender, pulled pork was excellent and the chicken was spot on as well. The cowboy beans are a must, potato salad was somewhat better than average, and I would pass on the cole slaw, over processed and not very flavorful. Bottom line- great bbq, fun space, and great folks working there."

"The Schooner is the grandaddy of Tofino restaurants, having been here since the laye 1970's (that I can remember). Always considered one of the best restaurants in Tofino, the Schooner has changed little with the years. Service is very good if somewhat off putting to lovers of "informal" restaurants (no "Hi! my name's Bob!" here). The food is classic, hearty local seafood in the main, extremely well prepared and very fresh. In high season, reservations seem to be a must. Try the stuffed local halibut, fresh Dungeness crab or fresh salmon, sockeye in season in July/early August."

"I had the Hammerhead (secret flavour but very delicious and the Kookville (crunchy vanilla in a waffle cup. Good quality for the cheap price and huge portion of ice cream! Cute spot with cozy vibes, definitely stop for a little treat ;"

"I enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly staff. it is also quite busy during the weekdays. we had to wait about 10 minutes to just get in and fortunately we were the last to get a table in the second stage in thu 5pm. so recommended to make reservations in advance. eating was delicious (prices also high) and the portions are not very large. dish decoration was just as good as restaurant decoration. I love the burger"
