what once was a charming old building, is now a strange mish maic of strange decoration. the staff was very nice, and the food was good, but oh my good the prices! prices that would be at home in the center of melbourne! total is not worth the effort of a trip all the way to tooradin to be calculated $40 $50 for a main course. read more.

"This would have been a 5 star review if not for a couple of small issues. We did our research prior to booking our first restaurant out after a 2 week lockdown on Melbourne. We checked where we could travel within 25 kms and found...Tides. Looked at the menu online and chose what we would order, which included the honey sriracha chicken wings, and double bruschetta for entree, and the seafood crepe and seafood pappardelle for mains. Arrived and was promptly seated in a great spot next to the central heater. Drink order was taken, and then the meals. Unfortunately as we were ordering the lovely waitress advised us the menu had just changed and the chicken and pappardelle was no longer on it. Bugger. Changed to the chicken satay for entree and pork ribs for main. Interestingly the Pork Ribs were advertised on the menu as 600-800 gms of ribs for $65. So not sure what I received, 600, 700 or 800. My base line for tasty ribs is Hogs Breath where it is clearly specified on their menu, 800 gms of pork ribs for $45. That said, all four meals were very good. The crepe was excellent with big prawns, fish and scallops in a creamy sauce wrapped in a thin crepe. The ribs had the meat dropping off the bone in a delicious sauce, although I believe the serving size was around 650-700gms. Chips were nice and crispy. The service was great and setting also good with the central fireplace. Total price was $171 for the two of us. Funny enough, when I got home and checked the menu again on the website it had been updated to reflect the new menu, so good work on that one. We look forward to coming back and trying four different meals including the ones we missed this time around."

"I ordered the steak meal, which came covered with a fat piece of meat and over boiled small burned kartomas with too much rosmarin. about half through the meal the waitress came by to ask if we enjoy our eating (as they do). I was honest about it and she apologised and asked if I wanted a new steak, so I said yes. She took my plate away and about 5 minutes later came the manager with the plate and said I had eaten too much of it, so they wouldn't replace it. at this time my meal had been passed through the restaurant by the waitress, chef and manager before she returned to me and it was also cold. please do not have their waiting personal offer a meal and then refuse it. I just finished what I had. but not after my meal had made a sauce of the restaurant, so I was no longer interested and left the place still hungry. the meal was much too expensive for what it was and due to this terrible service I will not be back."
