Cafe California Restaurant - Toronto

What Ivory Crist likes about Cafe California Restaurant:
The staff is extremely friendly and courteous, and the breakfasts are to die for--and so very reasonably priced! They have the best French toast in the city, and their regular breakfasts are wonderfully prepared and have portions that will fill you up. This is one of my favourite restaurants in the city--an organization to which I belong regularly meets here for brunch, and we'll undoubtedly keep doing so! View all feedback.

Two of us dined here on a recent trip to Toronto. We liked the menu posted outside and gave it a try. The dining room is pleasant but I found nothing to remind me of California. They don't even carry California wines. The menu was nice but I found the food to be just average. I ordered a warm beet, apple and goat cheese salad to start.
