"The lovely chef and proprietor, Jocelyne has sold the restaurant. The old authenticity has gone along with the tradition home cooked style menu which always included a fabulous vegetarian course and reasonable pricing. It’s replaced with small portions and for us hard pasta and translucent/ jelly like undercooked poisson du moment and main courses priced at 19€."

"Our first visit to Le Caillau but we will definitely return when we are next in the region. The setting is just beautiful, from inside the restaurant you are surrounded by the vineyards and the beautiful court garden. We did dine during a rain storm but the barn restaurant was so warm and cosy with a fireplace, you forget about the miserable weather. The service was so attentive; we tried our best to communicate in French but both waitresses had perfect English which made us feel a bit more relaxed. Service was friendly and we did not feel rushed off our table. The waitresses' knowledge on wine was amazing, they were able to recommend a local red to pair with my lamb fillet that was still subtle enough for a non-red drinker. The food was 5*. We opted to not go for starters as none of them really took our fancy but the mains were superb. My lamb fillet was the best thing I have ever eaten, cooked to absolute perfection. I tried their dessert of the day, a plum pavlova which too was divine, while my partner had the chocolate and caramel tart. The prices were very reasonable and the food quality is exceptional. I believe our total was approximately €80 for the two of us to each have a main and dessert and each a glass of wine."
