Thr food and drinks were great. It did take a long time for us to be served and for the food to arrive. The atmosphere and live music made the wait more bareable. View all feedback.
What Michael Berg doesn't like about Old Homestead:
Just ate here earlier this afternoon for lunch. Food was quite lousy. Ordered both soup of the day (corn chowder) and French onion soup which were like dirty laundry water. Also ordered bread appetizer which was like mush in spots. I’ve had better bread frozen from Aldi supermarket. The fried chicken sandwich was okay, salads our family ordered were terrible. Although the establishment appears appealing, I wish I had... View all feedback.
The place looks amazing. We sat outside with a talented guitar player/ singer serenading us. The hostess and waitress were both friendly and efficient. The food, well....not so good. We both got the scallops on rice pilaf with goat cheese and a spicy tomato sauce. It was bad. The scallops were slightly warm but seemed raw. I kept checking to see if they were moving. Each had what looked like a splash of ketchup on each with 4 small drops of goat cheese in between them on the rice. The rice pilaf was brown and cold. It was very watery, kinda loose. I was starving, so I ate it, my wife did not. It looked like slop. Presentation 0. We realize that these places are only open a few months a year and it must be tough getting great chefs on a temp basis but, honestly, it was bad.

The food was quite terrible. My prime rib panini was more stale than my grandmas panty hose. The French onion soup was used with a chicken stock broth with little to no flavor. The caeser salad was not even cut. We found a suspected stray hair that made its way into one of waters. We were the only people in the restaurant at the time of ordering and our food still took an unnecessarily long time to arrive. We could have gone to a senior Zumba class at the local YMCA and still made it back in time to receive our food. The gentlemens bathroom door did not close which was, slightly unsettling. One of the plates had a massive chip in which was a huge safety hazard. Although, I think I’d rather be cut by the plate than eat here again. The water glasses were dirty, and not in a good way. The waitress was polite, nothing negative to say about her. Please do yourself a favor and stay away!!!!
Plates were chipped, glasses were dirty. The french onion soup was watery and tasteless. The caeser salad had microwave bacon on it and was just not good. The duck tacos had something hard in it and were cold with ranch on top. Do not be fooled by the menu this place is terrible.
If I could give ZERO stars I would. This place was a nightmare. Waited a long time to be seated then when we were waited even longer for a waitress to come to our rickety table with chairs to match. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time because we knew from the start it was going to be a long haul. Drinks came, soup came no salads. 2 tables seated before us served and salads out. 1 hour in we threw in the towel. Steer clear of this place.
