Food was carvery style, not fresh and not very hot. Beef was tough and mash was definitely made hours previously. Staff were great and deserts were top notch.

Very good food, decent prices for what you get and service is good. Only thing i will say is the chips are disgusting, the old skin on fries were way better.

"Hooray, finally we are back in the beautiful Grand Hotel for another fabulous meal in Samuel's Restaurant. We all enjoyed our starters and main courses which we all agreed were out of for quality. One dessert was ordered and it was a delicious apple pie that was so large that it had to be shared out amongst us. The staff were efficient and polite and from a Covid point of view we felt very safe with all precautions taken. The dining was elegant and inviting and the new bathroom facilities are very smart and trendy looking. Well done The Grand, you never let us down. It's great to be back."

"Great hotel with amazing traditional bar and restaurant. Food is really high quality home cooked food with fabulous service. Rooms are clean and tidy however the building works make the hotel feel a bit grotty. (Maybe could have done this in stages rather than have all the materials for the works in the corridors where customers are walking). Over all a fabulous hotel which will be outstanding once the building has all its windows back in and not boarded up and building work completed"
