"The assessments for this place should have been reset if new owners have taken over... It is not even a scratch on the last owners who gave quality food with service and a smile! It is now diabolical with my last 2 orders and... unusable, the service is shocking to fit with the prices through the roof... $27 for delivered standard kebab). It should not be allowed to use reviews that were given if the current owners did not run as it misleading customers think it is a decent place to eat. Such a shame as people come from far and wide..."

"Came across this place after a long walk on Yorkeys Beach. Indeed, it is hidden, but it is a little oasis away from the sun and business of the parks nearby. Most of the seating is under umbrellas and away from the hot sun. The place is surrounded by tropical greenery, helping to create a cool atmosphere. Unfortunately, the espresso machine had been closed down by the time I got there, so had a cool beer and a lovely fresh carrot cake instead . Would love to come again"

The welcome was very friendly, the explanation of the menu quick, and the excellent milk shakes came in no time.We chose different burgers, they all looked and tasted great. The Yaya's speciality dish of Lamb and Lemon potatoes was the best I have eaten, a great balance of flavours and seasoning the lamb was so soft and melt in your mouth and the potatoes with just the right hint of lemon..... perfection! Save room for dessert as the Baclava ice-cream is gorgeous, a medley of creamy, nutty, honey goodness. A great way to finish your meal coupled with an authentic greek coffee! This is definitely a must do destination for Dinner if you are travelling to Cairns. Great service and a welcoming atmosphere from the staff made this a memorable and enjoyable dining experience. Can't wait to come back!"

"My family celebrated my birthday at Tamarind and we had a fabulous time! All the dishes were sensational, I particularly enjoyed the baby barramundi which is served upright on the plate with a delicious tamarind sauce. The sides were very generous portions and all yummy. The most excellent part though was the service! The staff were friendly, attentive and went above and beyond in their interactions. I have no hesitation recommending this restaurant to people enjoying a romantic date or a larger celebration like ours."
