We ate in the restaurant twice. The owner was very attentive and accommodating. On our last night we were greeted with garlands and flowers on the table on the wall overlooking the sea. We had king prawns to start, followed by gigantic lobsters all cooked in garlic butter (as we had ordered). And this was one of the few places we were able to get gin! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Waters Edge:
Visited this venue just once during our stay in Kovalam upon recommendation, whilst it was ok sitting up on the sea wall, the service was very slow, drinks were prompt View all feedback.
I stayed here for 8 weeks from December to February 2020. The prices are very reasonable and the staff are fantastic. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and has a great chef named Freddy. We ate there most of the time because nowhere else met their standards. It's a great place for a relaxing holiday.
We very much enjoyed our 3rd stay at the Waters Edge. Very charming place. Quiet location with great view on the ocean. The place to be for people who like couleur local. Not sophisticated or fancy, but very welcoming. Friendly staff.
What to say? Nothing to say about that hotel. as we booked room with breakfast and dinner. we find that it is pure non- vegetarian hotel when we asked them for veg food they give only one option of paneer sabji that was also very poor quality. next day morning when we asked for breakfast their staff said that there is only bread and butter in breakfast so we asked to make a cup of tea and they refuse to give. about rooms there manager said that we charge 6000 per day for that room which was not 1000 rs level. very dirty, unpleasant. if you want to west your money go there. I will never recommend to go there. there is no minus star otherwise i will give it -5*
I was there for breakfast, had to wait for 20 mins to get the attention of the waiter, and another 30 minutes to get the horrible food. Place looks dirty and old,in need of a good clean and refurbishment. Food was tasteless with expensive foreigner price. I would not recomend this place at all. They only serve horrible nescafe ' coffee and not nice Indian coffee. The hotel rooms have no hot shower as stated on their website. There is a shower only with cold water, however if you want hot water, you have to run a low tap in a dirty bucket for about 20 mins to get some warm water if you are lucky and use a jar to wash yourself. Not a really pleasant experience i have to say. I supposed to stay there for 2 weeks however i happily checked out after 3 days for a better place
A comfortable clean hotel with friendly and helpful owner and staff.Large rooms with A/c fridge kettle. very comfortable beds. plumbing a bit basic but adequate...My third visit and I would definitely recommend it and hope to go again
