"Not the restaurant’s fault that it was too smoky to dine outside, however I didn’t appreciate the sticky high top table provided right next to the entrance, nor the fact that we were ignored by the waitstaff for about half an hour after being seated. We were kindly allowed to move inside to the more formal dining area when requested. Tomato soup en croute was delicious as were the scallops and burger. Sadly the most expensive dish, Alaskan halibut was overcooked and dry, veggies would have been good if not over salted. If not for the disappointing halibut, the food would have earned or stars instead of For the price charged, halibut should have been excellent. Waitress offered no recourse when told it was overdone. Would be nice if the wine list had more reasonably priced selections, starting at about is a little steep. The French Chardonnay was very good as it better be for over I’ll think twice before making another journey to Truckee from Zephyr Cove for a dinner out at Moody’s"

"We are regulars at The Lodge Restaurant, it is our favorite Truckee restaurant. The service is marvelous, the staff are all so friendly and caring. They are always glad to see us and go out of their way to make us feel welcome. The menu changes seasonally at The Lodge so there is often something new to try. At this meal, my husband had his usual burger and fries, which he loves at The Lodge. Instead of a dinner, I tried two of the winter appetizers, the mushrooms and the roasted Brussels sprouts. Both were delicious, but I thought the Brussels sprouts were some of the best I've ever had. With gojuchang in the sauce, they were mildly spicy, rich, and full of umami flavor. I had the house rose with both dishes and it was the perfect accompaniment to both. The comfortable, cozy, and charming dining room is the perfect place for a winter meal. Dining by the windows overlooking the snow-covered golf course, with the fireplace in the background, it's such a delightful experience."

"Let me list the reasons why 1 star: #1. We got there at 1135am were told they didn 't open til 12. No offer to wait inside or you might want to wait here , or come back in 5minutes . We went to a store nextdoor got back at 1155am to see a 60 person line. Hello, you could have helped us with a tiny bit of insight!! #2. The line starts at the entrance goes left down the sidewalk. People walk up from the right start a new line going right. What the F...!! Hostess comes out for the 5th time taking people from the left, seeing now 50ppl lined up left, 5ppl on right side says who 's next, guess who says they are next, (HINT the A-hole pictured below!!! A good hostess would have firstly been there to see, and or told people to line up left, or told people OBVIOUSLY cutting the line to go to the back of the line!!! #3. Menu is very small in the sense that entrees are either Mac n cheese or pizzas. Prices are Outrageous. Mac n cheese $19 for a 6inch dish. We got an $8.50 hot fudge sundae too we will let the pic below speak for it 's tiny size.. maybe 3 bites!!! ²#4. Waitress asks my wife if she wants a box for her half dish of mac while she is still eating, maybe 15min after receiving it. Geeze, you want us out of here to seat the table again. 30minutes in line 15min eating...!!! People must like this. They were busy, and obviously had a line. But we wanted people to at least make an informed decision. Had I read a review like this, I would have known what to expect, or maybe not come here..."
