The owner, Ri Le, is vegan. When we requested vegan options, he confidently replied, "No problem, I will take care of that." He then served us the most delicious vegan appetizers and entrées, some of which weren’t even on the menu. He also shared his incredible life story with us, which was truly inspiring. What User doesn't like about Ri Le's:
This was quite disappointing, as I believe the universal definition of vegan includes no animal products at all. He laughed it off and quickly changed the subject. Seriously, after not eating eggs for over six years, it felt outrageous! The dish itself was delicious, but it’s crucial for them to ensure they fully understand what vegan really means. I just had to roll my eyes at the situation. View all feedback.
The service was very slow even though I was one of two people eating in the restaurant. The waitress was not attentive and I had to chase her down to pay for my food. They have only two pho options, and their small beef pho is tiny. In contrast, the small at somewhere else like Viet Huong is probably 10x bigger! I want to like this place and I may try it again eventually, but not anytime soon.
Atmosphere was nice. Service was okay. Not great . Food was delicious. I'm definitely glad I tried it and will go back.Food: 5/5
Great food and service. Very authentic. Can't go wrong with Ri Le. This is a Tulsa institution
I've been going here since I was a kid and Ri Le's has never changed. The food has always been great. I agree with some of the other reviews that this isn't necessarily traditional style Vietnamese food but it's his own spin on it. I enjoy both in the same. My normal go to is the Deluxe Bun because the fish sauce is hard to match anywhere else. Also the Vietnamese coffee is good.
Incredibly rude staff, with no service to the customer. We were asking basic questions and were left with the words in our mouths when asking for clarification on menu items. I was told why did I have a weird look on my face and still did not get any info on what menu items contained. I left in tears out of shock that I was treated so poorly.
