Sand Flat Campground - Twain Harte

What Jesse Koklas likes about Sand Flat Campground:
Very difficult to get to on rocky dirt forest service roads (took about an hour once off the main road in my ford focus, larger car/truck recommended). The fact that it's so far off the main road makes for excellent secluded camping though. The river is right there and there's a hiking trail that starts at the campsite. What Ron Macaire doesn't like about Sand Flat Campground:
Lots of snakes. My lab managed to find one by the water access point near the middle of the campground and another about a quarter of the way up the trail to the bridge. It isn't a surprise considering being out in the country. Trash bins were full.
