"I have enjoyed ices, cakes and Zaatar chicken and Persian bread on several occasions from this wonderful little cafe and takeaway. the food is always scrumtious, the service immaculate, friendly and efficient and they also serve fantastic tea, a rare thing these days. I look forward to returning"

"We had a lovely meal. The helpings were generous. The staff and atmosphere were good. Two of the party had mussels which they really enjoyed. I had steak and surf, with two of the largest prawns I have seen for a very long time. The steak was perfectly cooked. Desserts were a dream. Good toilet facilities. It would have been five stars except there is no telephone booking. We had a 45 minute wait, enough time to go to a different establishment for a drink as the bar there was full. This was outside of the main tourist season"

"We were up in Ullapool as part our road trip down the West Coast of Scotland. After pitching the tent we thought we'd head in to the town for some dinner and a few drinks to prepare us for the chilly night ahead. The first place we saw was the Seaforth and thought we'd head inside for some warmth and some grub. There was only one other table at the time, which wasn't surprising as it is out of season. We ordered a pint and some food and it came reasonably quickly. But this is where the positives ended unfortunately. The cheesy garlic bread starter was just a baguette with a mound of cheese on top and was likely bought from Tesco around the corner and fired off in the oven. The mains were not much better. My chicken burger was very dry, very bland and overall very disappointing. The fish and chips also very dry and tasteless, which is very surprising considering the same business owns the chippy next door. Despite the dry and tasteless food we had partially consumed, the hardest part to swallow was the fact that two courses each and one drink each amounted to £63. There was also a mandatory 10% gratuity. If this was peak summer period and the staff were running off their feet, I can see why this would be appropriate. It certainly was not like that on this occasion. Overall, I won't be back. The food was underwhelming, and the prices are just completely bonkers. We should've checked here first as there are plenty previous reviews that follow the same trend. Avoid."

"This bar, restaurant, bookshop, art gallery … and hotel is so well placed for the ferry to the Outer Hebrides but having stayed there for one night to do just this we will return for a longer break because it was so good. Clean, warm and comfortable room. An upstairs lounger with an honesty bar for drinks (including alcoholic) and lovely sofas and chairs to read in a quiet space away from the bar/restaurant. The bookshop was outstanding. Food great. We were no there alas on a music night but I bet the atmosphere would be terrific. Excellent."
