I spent 2 nights in Colesberg and had supper both evenings at Bordeaux and can honestly say that I wish we had a restaurant that serves real country food of this quality in Capetown. The first night I ordered the Venison Pie with Samp and Veg. It was absolutely outstanding. The second night I ordered the curried mutton tripe. This is my favorite meal and they didn't disappoint. Love the food, you have to stop here, even the accommodation is great for a stay overnight. Real old house with pressed steel sealing.

"Travelled into Colesberg from Philippolis on a Sunday for lunch and found this lovely gem tucked in right next to the OK foodstore! Friendly and hospitable waitress had me seated in a beautiful indoor tabled area with a steaming cappuccino served in 5 minutes flat. Karoo lamb pie and green salad beautifully presented,perfectly flavoured and well priced. Felt safe, spoiled and very welcome. Shall return!"

"Sweet little restaurant in Colesberg. Had the most delicious pumpkin fritters; reminded me of my granny’s. I ate the karoo platter a LOT of lamb which made for an incredibly rich in fat meal but it was delicious. Wine selection is tiny."
