The soup...it's like a nice warm hug. I will one million percent come back here and also buy the soup cookbook. The premises are aging as only old buildings can be and the bathroom is functional but not lovely. But this trip isn't about the bathroom make it for the soup and the multi generation family that's running the place. read more.

In beautiful weather you can even be served in the outdoor area, and there is free WiFi.

What Warren Bartlett doesn't like about American Hotel of Lima.:
A very old hotel built just after they invented dirt. It was really a step back in time to a different era. We had lunch there and in the dining area was a television with a black and white movie circa 1935. Perhaps it was just a day we were there but the the other lunch people seem to all be of the Geritol generation. Once you enter the hotel everything seems to be in slow motion. read more.

"I went to get my coffee today and it tasted a bit weak, i mentioned this to the barista, and said if she just wanted to add a shot of espresso that would be fine, but instead she just offered to make it over. And the second drink was perfect. I appreciate this kind of service. I get coffee here 5-6 days a week and this was my only time having a drink taste week and I appreciate how they fixed it so quickly. I hope this store unionizes soon so these great workers can get the pay they deserve!"

"I usually don't review chains but I wanted to try these subs since it's the first Firehouse Subs in Rochester. I also like that they donate proceeds to first responders. I visited around 1pm on a Monday and it was not busy, no one in line in front of me and maybe two cars in the drive thru. The service was friendly but painfully slow. Also, they have a sign on the door clearly stating you will not be served if you aren't wearing a mask; however, all three workers behind the counter had masks on but that were below their nose. It made me a little uncomfortable that they were handling my food without proper mask wearing. When my order was finally ready, they would have forgotten my mac and cheese side had I not asked if it was in the bag. Overall it just seemed like they were not focused on getting orders out efficiently. The food itself was fine. It was what I'd expect from a chain. The turkey, bacon, and ranch sub (I got a medium) was filling and good, but it had a lot of sauce and was messy to eat. The mac and cheese was creamy and tasted good. I hope that they can work out some of their customer service issues. The food is pretty good but I wouldn't hurry back given this experience. Editing to respond to owner comment below: I understand them being short-staffed and for that reason am less concerned as I was previously about the wait time. I know that many restaurants are facing staffing issues right now."
