I don't often find myself in Bardstown, KY, but when I do, I make it a point to eat at Mammy'sThe breakfasts are to die for.

"Bardstown Burger was a last minute stop for us but glad we started in. After having a few drinks around the street we needed some food and burgers sounded perfect. We walked over and ordered at the counter. I will say the prices were very good here. $7.75 for a Double Cheese Burger. $2.50 for fries or onion rings. You're just not gonna find the quality for those prices. Our food come out pretty quickly and my burger was very tasty. The fries were crinkle cut which seems to be the way here but nice and crispy. Tip, you gotta get some cheese sauce for dipping. Will take them to the next level. The onion rings were good too but the serving was on the smaller side but that's cause I also want more. think 6-9 rings. Bardstown Burger is for sure the place to stop in after some drinks and get a fresh tasty burger."

"Personally I love their lemon donuts and find that it is hard to find any competition for them. The filling is well distributed and intense, just the way I like my lemon donuts. Other donuts here are good too, of course. It's a well known secret that this is the best donut place in the area, so get there early because once the donuts run out they close."

"Immerse yourself in an experience that will remind you of a fine culinary journey that you have for a life. My Old Kentucky Dinner Train has two beautifully restored 1940 vintage cars that are pulled by two 1950s F-Unit locomotives. During your two-and-a-half-hour trip through the beautiful Kentucky countryside you will be served a delicious meal prepared during the route by our chef in our kitchen car. The traditional tables of four are perfect for conversations but cozy enough for privacy. My Old Kentucky Dinner Train runs various schedules all year round. Bardstown railway branch was originally built in 1860 by The Bardstown and Louisville Railroad. The Louisville and Nashville Railroad then bought the line at a pre-sale in 1864. R. J. Corman Railroad Company bought CSX Transportation's 20-mile distribution in 1987 and developed the Dinner Train, which had its first run in 1988. In addition to the Dinner Train, the railway offers a freight service for local industries. Kalkstein Depot The depot was built in 1860 and used until 1953 as a cargo and passenger warehouse when the passenger service was set on this part of Louisville and Nashville Railroad. The depot is made of native limestone and is the last remaining ?dry-laid? limestone depot in the condition of Kentucky. Due to its historical importance, the depot is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The original freight share of the depot was received as far as possible while the passenger share was torn off in 1953. A new addition to the waiting room was built in 1992. The three cars of the dinner train are all steel ski cars built by the Budd Company in the late 1940s after the Second World War. They were renovated by R. J. Corman Railroad far beyond the original interior design. The RJC-007 was built in 1941 as a 54-seat day trainer for the Pennsylvania Railroad. Built in 1948, RJC-021 was used on the El Capitan train from Santa Fe Railroad and was equipped with state-of-the-art appliances to serve as a kitchen car. The RJC-777 was renovated in May 1992 and added to the dinner train. The depot is beautiful in summertime with flowers arrival early The train runs through the landscape of Nelson County. Many distilleries. It goes directly to the Olde Stillhouse Distillerie in the Deatsville L and N Zug Depot and Crossing A historical train depot complete with an L and N car and waiting area. It crosses through some of Bernheim forests outer property Closing in the Jim Beam Distillery near the end of the tracks. Go through several crossings with flashing lights And then retraces it?s path. Choose an excursion right for you Buy a ticket in advance Visit the depot with many parking spaces. Directly on the street is the square of the city of Bardstown ."
