Le XV - Val-d'Isère

Had a coffee and paninis. coffee is good and the toasts. personal is nice, nice to sit outside in the sun.

The val d’isere center went and came here. it was a bit from the center, a bit further down the road from the bus stop. they have a small outside area that was quite packed, but we managed to get a table, the inner was quite empty. After we get some menus we ordered in the cash. I had the Tartine Savgoule, a ham and cheese toast with a side salad. it was really delicious. we were a bit close to the dach, a fog from the dach came. we also had a small problem with the payment. the meal was paid when it was ordered, but then ordered a coffee after the meal. they said we hadn't paid yet. it was sorted out at the end. it was not close to the snow fields, but it was a nice place for a lunch.

This is a traditional val bar! is the type that quickly disappears? great location, music, cheap bar eating, friendly service! we hope it is here in 10 years (although this can be my last visit in val sad).

Having arrived in Val to find our previous drinking venue, The Pacific, closed we remembered a recommendation of friends to try Le XV. This is such a great bar I’m surprised it hasn’t had more reviews. Ok, so it’s not a restaurant but as bars...go, this has to be one of the better ones to visit especially if you like to catch up on the sports. The live music on Friday evening was also a great time. I see a previous reviewer mentioned a lack of change being given however I never experienced this and on most occasions I didn’t wait for change as I assumed tipping a small amount was customary? I’m terrible at getting to know the names of staff in places but would like to pass our thanks to Mr Beard (you’ll know Clark Kent ‘Superman’ lookalike (again, you’ll know) and the lovely young lady who served us our G&T’s throughout the week. It’s always appreciated when they remember what your drinking after just a couple of visits. Looking forward to seeing you again in 2020.

Definitiw a rugby pub with atmosphere. this has been our apres ski location of choice, always in the position to find a seat. service was good and friendly. good choice of wine and beer.
