"That is not a place where you happen to go, but it is worth getting up the mountain. gourbit is a tiny village between tarascon and saurat, take the departure parc de la prehistoire from the end of the double-cartridge roundabout. as usual with these small restaurants, opening times are limited with reduced opening times in winter, so it is worth making a reservation. they have no website, but have a Facebook page. this shows up-to-date opening times like thurs: 19:00 21:00 fri sat 12:00 13:30 19:00 21:00 sun 12:00 13:30 the menu was interesting, good value for money at 24,50 € for 3 courses and the service was smiling and efficient. portion sizes were generous to the point that eating one dessert was possibly a step too far....but rudely not too, I always think. at this point, I thought the standard of the desert was not as good as the other courses of the ice sunflower etc. variety, but this is a smaller quibble. good selection of low-priced wines from the south-west france. during an earlier visit, I was surprised that the heating in the winter was supplied by a rather smelling paraffin heater who rather spoiled the first impression, but did not distract from the experience after eating and drinking began to flow. in short, worth a visit."

"Nous sommes arrivés à 13h30 pour déjeuner. Accueil agréable.Nous avons été ravis de nos plats (hamburger maison, salade fraîcheur, carbonara...).La salade fraîcheur était au top. Salade verte, crevette avec une sauce délicieuse, avocat, tomate et orange, j'ai adoré !Il y a aussi des très bonnes bières. Nous n'avons pas pris le menu express mais celui-ci semblait vraiment pas cher et très bon (poulet rôti et café gourmand) pour 10 €.Propreté impeccable. Ras, très bonne adresse dans tarascon pour déjeuner."

"I was taking my French friend out for a farewell meal in thanks for the hospitality she had given me. Initial impressions of the restaurant were excellent. Open for a start, dog welcomed and water provided for him. Meal ordered and while waiting bread and dips were placed on the table. First problem was a large piece of plastic in one of the dips. Pointed this out to waiter and was greeted with shrugs. Starter arrived which was very good. Main meal of lamb cutlets. I had ordered medium rare; they were more rare than medium but I let that go as meat was tender. Then came the long 30 min wait for the desserts. My friend reminded the waiter and approximately 15 mins later they arrived. We ordered tea and coffee at that time. Desserts were delicious. Drinks arrived about 20 mins after the dessert plates had been taken. The milk was warm and curdled in my tea. Eventually caught waiter's eye and drinks were taken away. I said I would keep my pot of tea but it was taken anyway. Drinks were replaced and milk was hot (I suppose for the coffee). I put the milk in my cup and added the new tea only to find it was green tea. Once again called the waiter and was told they'd run out of black tea. Why didn't they tell me!! I didn't drink any of the tea, it was not what I wanted. When I went to pay my friend reviewed the meal as we saw it. There were a lot of shrugs and we were let of the coffee that she had drunk and the tea which I hadn't. If this had been the UK we would have been given at least the desserts free."
