We climbed up to the Rifugio Branca and asked if it was possible to eat some lunch. The owners were a little flustered as we hadn't booked and they were basically closing up for the season. They said they would find something...it sounded like a real pot luck lunch. Instead, they surprised us with fantastic delicious rustic food: sausages, roast potatoes, roast veal with mushrooms, a tasty salad, crusty bread. They also brought us some local cheese to try (a generous piece) and we finished off the lunch with a divine strudel. The price was very reasonable, the owners friendly and very hospitable. Easy to recommend!!
We spent two night at the Branca and it was amazing. The family that owns and runs the hut is welcoming, friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and plentiful. We especially loved having salads and great desserts. The ravioli was a highlight (we had 3 servings). Accommodations are exactly what you need. Surely not to be missed and a wonderful way to end a day of ski touring. Thank you Stefano, Enrica and Paolo!
Have a lunch , but special a dinner here , it will be to know the power of local cuisine at the highest level! Excellent menu with satisfactory beverages with price fully on line for quality and quantity! Fantastic staff!
Stayed four nights here ski touring half board. Only had one lunch which was very good but most days we were not back in time. Made do with a couple of beers on the sun terrace. Good choice, mostly Bavarian. Lovely red wine from barrel too. Plenty of space inside in the bar area for chatting in the evening. The evening meals were superb four or five courses, including seconds of pasta for hungry skiers. Breakfast a bit basic. Hut has all the normal facilities, large good drying room, lots of hot water and showers with long timer. Bedroom power point odd probably a type L, not quite the same as the common type C. Take adapter!
The level of this structure is higher than the other huts in this area. Very clean and good assortment of typical dishes. The path to reach Rifugio Branca is very easy, not far from Rifugio Forni. Even children and not trained sunday trakkers can easily do it. The atmosphere inside is very warm and cosy.
