"The entire experience at Auberge du Bon Laboureur was sublime. The service was excellent and yet comfortable, not pretentious. We felt like we were being entertained in a private home. It was just so lovely, We took our aperitif in the bar, then moved to the dining room. There were several taster surprises from the chef. The menus was a perfect selection with an emphasis on locally sourced products. Every bite was perfection. I tried the chef’s signature dessert. It was made of parmasean cheese among other wonderful things and was served with a small lightly dressed arugula salad which perfectly balanced the tart yet rich dessert. I left the property determined to return for a longer stay and several nights in that’s restaraunt!"

"We came to 6 to celebrate a friend's birthday, we had a good night. A small card with traditional products a few times revisited very friendly and generous proportions, a very friendly and listening staff especially for the little surprise reserved for our friend for dessert. Nothing to say again."

"Assa has a wonderful view on the river Loire but the view is not the most important part of your experience in Assa.We were a couple with a kid and went for the 5 courses menu, with for our 6 years old kid, a simple course with dessert. I won't describe what we ate as the menu is surprise. If you are concerned about the surprise, the waiter gives you a paper with the menu description. You can have a look at it before ordering or let the surprise catch you.Flavours were numerous, surprising and mainly delicious.Service was attentive but discrete and professional.The chef presents at least one course to each table.Compared to one star restaurants we have in Belgium, the value for the quality was very fair. We ended up with a 248 euros bills for two 5 courses menu, one meal and dessert four our daughter, juice, water and a bottle of wine.We will definitively go to Assa again if we go back to Blois!"

"This is a flawless country restaurant. The food, the setting and the service were all super! The goal of the chef, owner and servers is obviously to please the diners and to do so in the friendliest manner. They have orchestrated a relaxed way to present beautiful, perfectly cooked, creative food. My favorite restaurants are ones where the food on the plate is the star without drawing attention to the chefs artistry . The ingredients are great, the seasoning perfect and the presentation inviting. And so delicious! For each of the three courses, the last bite was as good as the first! We will be back on our next trip to Amboise. Bravo!!!!"

"My wife and I booked, by email, to eat at La Bonne Etape on Sunday 26th June. We received the following reply: Bonjour, J'ai pris note de votre réservation. Cordialement. Verrier Myriam. We arrived on Sunday evening to find that the restaurant was closed and a notice saying they were closed Sunday evenings. Disgusting service."
