I just ate Le Filown de Montepellier and it was great. I had the honey camembert for a starter and the walnut gorgonzola Filet mignon-- the steak was just a bit over boiled for me, but they were both still excellent. The waiter was charming and helpful. Very recommended if you are in Valparaiso! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Le Bistrot De Montpellier:
After falling to find a nice empanada around the area, we came here to see if they could perk us up. They couldn't. They have a fantastic choice of empanadas, so I went for a Camenbert and bacon one (couldn't find any bacon in it at all but whatever). I actually enjoyed it a LOT less than the first empanada I had, which was such a shame as the restaurant looks great! My girlfriends veggie empanada was OK, but not fan... View all feedback.

Un petit français and un poquito chileno. Garzóns speaks French and everything. Cool.
Menu of the day was sorely disappointing, but confit de canard was spectacular.

I actually enjoyed it a LOT less than the first empanada I had, which was such a shame as the restaurant looks great! My girlfriends veggie empanada was OK, but not fantastic. I then decided to get something sweet (their fudge) which was OK but again, a little underwhelming. I believe I may have just chosen the wrong things but still, what's the point of having weak things on the menu.
10/10 wouldn’t recommend First of all, there was only one waitress dealing with all the tables on a sunday at luca time so the service was terrible not her fault of course). For a “french” restaurant the wine selection was terrible, even considering that in chile is super easy to find decent wines for cheap, so it seems more like a lack of concern of whoever writes the menu. We went for the daily menu, which we found a bit pricey $9900 pp), but whatever, everting is expensive in the area so why not: the food was ok but not worth the price for sure, you can find similar or even better lunch menus for half the price. To complete the delightful experience, the restaurant as most in the area do) allowed musicians to play inside only 10 tables so not a big place), whom played extremely loud as if it were a pub at night. Finally, the place itself looked a bit unclean, the bathroom def wasn’t clean enough for the price paid. Overall, go somewhere else
