The ambient is cozy and welcoming, the staff is friendly but they don't speak much english, the food is great with big portions.

"Wenn ein (bekannter) Koch aus Detmold (Matthias Althof) sich nach Valendas verirrt, wird das einen Grund haben... Erstklassige Küche, die sich nirgendwo verstecken muss, mit lokalen Einflüssen kombiniert. Ein Traum für uns... und für alle einen Versuch wert. Ach ja, die liebe Elvira war natürlich auch ein wichtiger Grund. Man könnte sich im schönen Italien oder in London oder NY befinden... zum Glück sind wir in Graubünden (Schweiz) und erfreuen uns am lokalen Couleur! Immer wieder! Und es ist das Lieblingsrestaurant meiner Tochter... wegen den besten Raviolis der Welt!!!"

"With great anticipation and expectations of the Reds kitchen with 15 points, we wanted to spend an evening with culinary delights. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and we felt welcome. When ordering we were irritated for the first time, because the menu in the Red only 10Fr. is cheaper than in the Silver. (Silver 18 points and 2 stars) We should have reacted here and switched to the Sivler. We ordered the 10 course menu and were left alone when ordering the wine. On the wine list there is no wine under 150. There is no upper limit for the amounts. No sommelier far and wide. For the prices of the wines and the ambience of the restaurant, this would clearly be a matter of course. The dishes were prepared ok, but we could have gotten that in a restaurant without points. Almost every course was prepared at the table. As a result, we often had to wait a very long time for the next course. So the evening dragged on. The quantities of the individual courses was much too large. Due to this wrong calculation of the quantities and the preparation at the table, a lot of food ended up in the garbage. The employee who cooked at the table regularly carried many leftovers back into the kitchen. Food waste in our time in a high priced restaurant is an absolute no go. I also pay for the food that ends up in the garbage. The service was inattentive. Wine was not refilled and side dishes were forgotten. In addition, one understood the employees very badly, because their German was not good or they mumbled. We would have gladly dispensed with the preparation at the table if the quantities on the plates had been adjusted and the chef had prepared the dishes. So the service staff took over the cooking. The price performance ratio for this 10 course menu was not consistent for us at all. The culinary highlight came at the end. The surprise course was a bratwurst. That after the dessert, which was also just average. We skipped this course because we totally overeat and were disappointed. If you ordered the dishes individually (e.g. 3 courses), the quantities would have been just right. The evening was a big disappointment for us. "Our final night in Switzerland thought we would have Fondue. Two types on the menu but only one available and that turned out to be 27 Francs each. The first place we have been to where we were charged for water and they had bottled it themselves with a label 7 Swiss Francs! The service was ordinary and the place was overpriced."

"From the first contact to the final and personal send off, the Zimmermann Team of Cornelia and Tino outshone every restaurant in the ski resort. We arrived to candlelit paths and a warm welcome, having reserved online and received an ever so positive reply. We were able to choose freely from the six course menu and as we had children with us, this flexibility was valuable. Our courses were brought swiftly and everything was delicious, local and exquisitely prepared. We can heartily recommend Stiva Veglia, it’s a beautiful place with kind, attentive and skilled owners and staff."
