What Trina Schopf doesn't like about Sushi Sakanaya:
My wife, bestie, and I came here specifically to get some conveyor belt sushi.. that did not happen. They have the belt that goes all around but looks like they stopped using it. I really love this place. We typically order delivery, but have dined in a few times. Very nice people, always get the order right. It’s consistently solid.Food: 4/5
Great place for sushi. We are very basic sushi eaters. Salmon, tuna, jalapeno poppers. Nothing super fancy. The fish is always fresh and now that the sushi is made to order, the poppers are always hot and crispy. The booths and seats are clean, not sticky. Everyone is welcomed like old friends. This is our favorite local sushi place.Vegetarian options: Wide range of options for gf and vegetarians.Kid-friendliness: We've taken our kids since they were toddlers. Well behaved children are welcome.Parking: Shared w other businesses. More parking behind Firestone building.Wheelchair accessibility: Wide spaces, no stairs.
We stopped in for the first time and I guarantee it won't be our last! The service was friendly, knowledgeable and fast. We chatted with the hostess/waitress and she recommended a couple of rolls that I had not heard of before and they were phenomenal! It was a delight to watch the chef create our dishes. He was friendly and seemed proud of his work (as he should be! . The Sunshine roll was incredible, the lemon slice really set it off. We had several rolls, with the basic asparagus roll bring anything but basic, most excellent. Their creamy scallop nagiri was excellent. On a side note, their picked ginger was the best we've ever had. We also liked their iced tea. Basic ambiance that was made even more pleasant by the friendly staff. Can't wait to go back!
The best Sushi restaurant in Vancouver WA. The staff is always welcoming and treats their regulars like family. I always look forward to coming here and never have any complaints about the food.Food: 5/5
