"I am stunned that this outstanding bakery has not been reviewed. i found it on the recommendation of the owners of the 'Last Truck Stop'--a pop up take-out cafe further West on the Yellowhead Highway (Highway 16). I was lamenting the lack of savoury options at roadside food stops. Specifically, I was interested in sausage rolls, meat pies, pastries etc. One of my companions told me that those were Australian and New Zealand snacks and that I was in Canada! But at Woody's they had them all. Furthermore, the 'Australian' steak, cheese, and bacon pie I bought was without doubt the very best gourmet meat pie I have tasted in either Australia or NZ for a very long time. Woody's also had chicken and vegetarian pastry rolls, samosas, Cornish pastries, and other savoury delights. The chicken roll was nice and spicy. For more traditional North American travellers, Woody's has plenty of sweet choices. The other baked items also looked great. Prices were very reasonable. For Antipodeans, Woody's is an absolute gem! I'd love to return."

"A wide range of menu items from Steaks, to Schnitzel, Pasta dishes, Seafood and Salads. It's great comfort food. The wait staff is very friendly and the service is superb. They also have a wide range of choices for delicious desserts. This North Country Inn Restaurant is the BEST place to eat in Vanderhoof and central BC, bar none. I stayed in VDH for 1 week and ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at this Restaurant. Every meal and every menu option is excellent."

"Well since there are few to no places to eat in Vanderhoof you have to take what you can get.This place is hit or miss. I suppose it depends on who is in the kitchen.4 of us went for lunch on Saturday and it was a miss this time.Had a soup and sandwich that I only was able to eat just one square of the sandwich and immediately wasn't feeling well.Needless to say, good thing I wasn't on a first date or something, cause immediately had to head home because I wasn't feeling well, not just me either. And pricey for the service and 4 meals at lunch with no alcohol over $100. So maybe pick a day during the week might be better."
