we were looking for a good food on short notice and cried this restaurant as it was rated high in the tripadvisor. because we wanted to have an early dinner, the host could bring us. around 1830 we were the only ones to mule! but it became. very quickly filled. this place is in the luisenviertel wuppertal, what you can call the city. fair middle and there are some street parking, but better to park in one of the near... We wanted to feel moments of happiness after our Eastern Frisian culinary disaster and therefore asked Mr.Slowhand whether we could not meet in the Amalfi four. After clear, it was called Remscheid, and it started. 19:00 was a meeting place and despite the difficult parking situation, everyone was back on time. Our table reserved in the side room was covered, the restaurant was almost half occupied at that time. Service Two very friendly young ladies were responsible for us and looked after us. The menu came very fast, the daily dishes were unfortunately only called us on demand. The first drinks were also served quickly and well-tempered: Cola (0.2l. 2,20€, SP (0,7l. € 4,90, alcohol-free. yeast wheat (3,30€ and Prosecco (0,2l. 6,00€). The dishes were served with announcement as soon as we had finished eating, the excess was cleared. And in the meantime it was asked if everything was okay. A (small complaint was very professionally solved, for this purpose at the dishes. Of course, the payment process is also easy and fast. I'd like to give you 4 stars. On the house we received a basket with homemade bread with olives and a paprika butter. It wasn't bad, but it didn't really rip me off the stool. I had chosen the Terra appetizer plate I wanted to share with my wife. The plate was covered with fried zucchini, fried eggplants and paprikaschoten with a tomato sauce, olives, San Daniele ham, grilled vegetables and Parmesan strips. Tastefully, each component was different and very good. We also saw satisfied faces when the Vongole were fed with garlic, white wine, chilli peppers, salt and pepper (9,90€). After a pleasant break the main dishes came. My white wine with cherry tomatoes, parsley and garlic boiled sea bass (14,90€ was very delicate and juicy and of normal stature. The sauce with the fruity tomatoes a poem. I had a boring mangold for myself. I liked the rice with pepper cubes. Also my wife was very happy with her Bavette noodles with scampi in a fruity tomato sauce. The nice couple facing us had Paccheri once with mozzarella, cherry tomatoes and rocket (9,90€ and once with Italian sausage meat and parmesan (9,90€). Both reported a fantastic sauce, but the pasta was too hot and Mr.Slowhand left a few of them for the kitchen on the plate. The waitress apologised several times and spoke to the kitchen. For all of us, at least three degistives were offered to the house and as a very nice gesture of the cook, Mr. Slowhand received a “excuse me” whose attached picture should be considered. This “mistake” of the kitchen was forgotten and done. We drank a Trabucco Erre Falerno (0.2l. 5,50 , intense in colour and with a full-bodied taste. Dessert no longer went, for that we finally said to the Degistiv on's house. I think 4 stars are fair for this performance. Ambiente Modern, on the chairs you can sit comfortably for hours. 4 stars And that's why we like to come back.

Wir haben das Essen genossen...leider mussten wir zu lange darauf warten...Der Wein war sehr qualitativ...
Wuppertal - niet eens zo heel ver weg van Nederland. Aanleiding voor het bezoek was de bijzonder zweeftrein, de Schwebebahn. Al meer dan een eeuw oud, en echt zeer indrukwekkend. Maar goed, als je ter plekke bent, wil je natuurlijk ook een fatsoenlijke hap eten. Een beetje rondkijken op Internet leverde dit adres op. En aangezien veel Italiaanse restaurants dezelfde gerechten op de kaart hebben, is een onderling 'kwaliteitsonderzoek' niet zo moeilijk.Amalfi ligt aan een vierkant plein, dat in de zomer ook de mogelijkheid biedt buiten te eten. Wij deden dat niet - een tikje te fris, naar ons idee.Binnen is de zaak betrekkelijk eenvoudig ingericht, met in de aankleding wat Italiaanse accenten. Donkere houten tafels, met place-mats. Jammer, wij houden van een echt tafelkleed en linnen servetten. Maar dat is inderdaad een kwestie van smaak.De bediening was attent, gaf adequaat advies en toelichting bij de specialiteiten van de dag.Onze keuze viel op carpaccio di manzo, carpaccio di tonno en caprese. Alle drie prima. De tonijn was heerlijk vers; naar mijn idee wel een tikje teveel citroensap. Misschien een idee op de citroen er los bij te doen, zodat de gast zelf de hoeveelheid kan bepalen? De rucola was in iets te grote hoeveelheden aanwezig bij de rundercarpaccio en de caprese. Maar: buffelmozzarella! En zo hoort het ook.Voor ons hoofdgerecht konden twee leden van het gezin helaas geen carré van lam nemen, omdat het niet voorradig was. In plaats daarvan werd van de dagkaart gekozen voor een prima entrecote van Argentijns rund, respectievelijk een moot tonijn met mosterdsaus. Beide gerechten waren prima klaargemaakt, en vooral over de tonijn hoorde ik enthousiaste reacties van de overzijde van de tafel. De ravioli met ricotta en spinazie op carpaccio deed dochter verzuchten dat ze dat de volgende keer weer wilde. Duidelijk, dus. Zelf had ik van de dagkaart een saltimbocca genomen. Die was perfect. Opvallend was dat de ham en salie niet, zoals vaak, met een prikker waren vastgemaakt, maar gewoon aan de vleeslapjes vast zaten. Dat eet wel zo prettig.Buiten Italië kun je, geloof ik, nooit zelf je contorni kiezen. Ook hier niet: de borden waren voorzien van wat goede verse spinazie, en patate al forno. In orde.En klinkt het raar als ik zeg dat de porties 'Duits van omvang' waren? Met andere woorden: we hadden ons buikje rond gegeten. Ik bedoel het dus positief.S. Pellegrino en een mooie fles Greco di Tufo erbij, en koffie toe - voor een dessert was geen ruimte meer... ;-)Na afloop kregen we nog een grappa aangeboden, en kwam er voor de kinderen uit de keuken nog een klein ijsje - auf das Haus.Dit alles voor nog geen € 175.Kortom, wij hebben hier goed gegeten, en zullen bij een volgende bezoek aan de stad hier graag terugkomen.Als ik al minpuntjes zou moeten noemen, dan dit: de afvalbak op het herentoilet was erg vol met papieren doekjes.Reserveren via de website van het restaurant leverde niet een toegezegde bevestiging per mail op. Toen ik voor alle zekerheid enkele dagen tevoren even belde, werd me gezegd dat ik die toch nog gekregen zou hebben, maar dat het zo via de telefoon ook geregeld was.Niettemin: van harte aanbevolen, zowel wegens de kwaliteit van het eten als de vriendelijke bediening.
