This restaurant has the best sushi in town, and their Thai food is also fantastic! I especially enjoy their Panang curry, and it's great that their sweet and sour dish is gluten-free. It's one of my favorite places to eat in the area. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Star Thai Sushi Venice:
I visited this restaurant based on a recommendation, but I was not impressed. My companion ordered two rolls as part of the $12 lunch special, and they were very similar to mine. When I looked at the food offerings on the menu, I was disappointed with the quality of my meal. I don't plan on returning because the special roll prices were too high for such basic dishes. The 139 positive reviews must be friends and family or people who have never really tasted Thai food. I am always suspicious of restaurants that offer a wasted dishes and do a 7-10 split (bowling metapher) on the cultures that it immerses. Japanese and Thai eating are not the same, but sometimes they have Thai kitchens and a sushi cook, so that we had a try. the service was indispensable, despite the fact that the place was almost empty. I showed her what we wanted on the menu, but she forgot and didn't get the replacement I asked, but okay, we moved on. fried egg rolls are frozen, but not well frozen. the ones I buy at costco are better what is a sad thing to say. there are no shares. no sauces on the table. the curry was below average and the meat was hard. the first and last time for us.
This is a must have dinner for those who favor Thai food- we have done the take out a few times- generous portions and very flavorful! Staff very friendly and helpful
All 5 of us lunch buddies enjoyed our delicious lunch. The service is pleasant and competent. The atmosphere is bistro, a little noisy, but the place was crowded at noon, so we didn’t mind too much. The food is fresh and VERY delicious: Beef soup with noodles, duck soup with noodles, curry, Pad Thai, tuna carpaccio and the Black Dragon sushi roll —— all of it was just GREAT! Their in-between mini course of chicken rice soup, a tiny egg roll and a tiny iceberg salad was a wonderful surprise touch. They also do quite a large takeout business. Hope this place makes a hug splash in the Venice area and environs. Take your (quiet) family there.
Best fried rice I’ve had in Venice. Actually wasn’t shy with their vegetables, most places are. Veggie option actually worth it. Tofu cooked perfectly. Super fresh hot. Their sushi is dank too. Thanks ??
Update: We went a second time and it was just as excellent as the first time. The waitress even remembered us! I love the tuna poke bowl so much that I had to get it again. Great little place!I haven’t had sushi this good in a very long time. The food was amazing and beautifully plated. The staff was excellent and very kind. Will definitely be back!
