I was surprised to see some negative reviews. I have been a customer at this restaurant for almost ten years and their sesame chicken is amazing. The chicken is lightly battered and comes in big chunks, coated in their delicious signature sauce. It was the first dish I tried and I have never ordered anything else since! View all feedback.
What Jason P doesn't like about The Rice Box:
Today was our first time trying The rice box, and we will not be going back. Chinese food from the mall is better. Everything was bland and looked like it was from the frozen food section at the grocery store. Save your money and go to the mall instead for low quality food. View all feedback.
I ordered the Spicy Basil special with the beef option for meat, and there was no meat in it, only vegetables and rice. I was really disappointed when I got home and found out. I was exhausted so I really didn't want to go back to the store to resolve it. So I just ate it and went to bed. Maybe I just won't buy food here anymore. Because it would be inconvenient to open the box and check in the car if I got what I ordered before I drive home.
Great service. The food is very tasty and their delivery service is excellent.
Terrible food here! I ordered the ginger beef and it was the toughest, blandest meat I’ve ever had. My wife ordered the soup and it was awful too. Had more sodium than instant noodles. Do not order from
Still amazing. Thai green curry and Shanghai noodles were super yum.
We had a craving for Chinese food and decided to try The Ricebox take-out on our drive home. When we got home and tasted the order it was such a disappointment. We decided on 2 Single combos at $16.50 each, which included Chicken Chowmein and rice, with the option of selecting one other side. We picked Almond Chicken and Crispy Pork which had a few stir fried veggies. There was so much sauce on the Chicken Chowmein that the Almond Chicken and Crispy Pork turned soggy. The sauce was unlike any Chowmein we’ve had…it was a starchy brown gravy, a bit of ginger along with something that tasted like the oil from frying fish. It gave the chicken Chowmein a very fishy flavour profile. The noodles were soggy with very few pieces of chicken and only a few scraps of cabbage and no other veggies in the chowmein. The service was friendly and we received our order promptly but we won’t be back for another meal.
