"Found this gem in TripAdvisor as we were on our way home from the Pisa Airport and were getting close to closing time for lunch. Based on the reviews we decided to stop. For on 12€ you get a primi, secondo, cortorni, dulci del la casa, water and coffee. Only wine and beer are extra. The staff was warm and welcoming and luckily my son speaks some Italian so we were able to figure out our options. Several pastas and meat and fishes are available and two desserts. The place was packed with locals- one table had over 20 people! If you want an inexpensive, local experience, this is worth getting off the highway for!"

"We arrived late at Montopoli and the restaurant was supposed to close at 10.30. We arrived at the restaurant just before this and they were kind enough to stay open for us which meant that they had to stay open until about midnight. They were more than happy to do so even though we felt quite guilty about this. The meal was excellent. Their meat platters and pasta were good and tasty. We went back a second time and again the meal was excellent. I had wild boar and the meat was so tender, delicious. I really do recommend this restaurant if you want very good food and as prices go in this area it was not expensive."
