"What a delightful find for a Monday lunch! Beautiful smoked salmon and goats cheese salad with balsamic glaze, a perfectly chilled glass of local rosé finished with a mellow abatinado. Doesn’t look much from the outside, especially with a full renovation going on next door. Lovely ambiance, great food, good service. Slightly more expensive than some but would definitely recommend"

"It was just a last minute lunch engagement that came through, and no place available I was aware of to hold the meeting. A lady at the hotel I was staying at told me about this place, a town where she lived nearby, and I was very, very happy she directed me there. It is right on the old, historic square of the city, with all of the old world charm in the sights and sounds around the restaurant. But the restaurant is very up to date without being hard and cold. No, the place is one of those that welcomes you as you come in, wraps it's warm arms around you and makes you feel like you just came home to eat some wonderful food. The servers, especially Carla, made the whole last-minute thing come off like a charm. Not only was the starters hot and just enough spice to wake you taste buds up, but the salads were really fresh, hard to do in February, and the entrees were incredibly delicious. The house red wine was just the ticket for some pulled pork that was cooked perfectly, with no fat you had to eat around, and just the right texture and warmth to give you that "aaahh," feeling. The desserts - how can I describe the three samples that they presented for us to try? To do them justice would be mean to you, the reader, because the euphoria, the bursting of flavour in the mouth, the absolutely phenomenal finish each gave, would leave you salivating for just one bite, if you like desserts at all! A creamy flan-like dessert; a light meringue flash-fried balls of honey-cinnamon accents, light as a breath on your tongue; a filo-dough pastry with flaky crusts that melt in your mouth, as just a slightly sweetened (honey) mixture of red fruits that were able to work their way between the crusts, are absolutely to go to heaven for. Treat yourself to a very reasonably priced, but outstanding meal at this small, friendly locals type of restaurant. Don't speak Portugese? Don't worry, they speak English, at least enough to get you to become a very happy customer."
