"We went at 8:30 on a Friday night, getting seated just before the rain came pouring down. But we got soaked with this meal. The food was not fresh and was overcooked. If curry original means it was originally made when the restaurant opened I guess the name is not false advertising. The first clue should have been the papadums which were flaky, not crisp and snappy. We ordered beef vindaloo and dahl, which we have had many times before at good Indian restaurants so we know how it should taste. The beef vindaloo is listed as spicy but the heat was overwhelming to the point you couldn't taste the spices in the dish. When we asked for yogurt to tame the heat, the waiter said vindaloo is hot. Yes we know it is and we like our curry dishes hot but this was way over the top. The dahl was so overcooked it was pretty much a pasty mush. You couldn't even tell it was made with lentils as they had turned into soup. And it lacked any taste. The rice was no better, it was clumpy and basically stuck to the serving bowl. The service was equal to the food, no care or attention. We were never asked once how the food was or if we wanted anything else. With so many good restaurants in Kingston, I am very disappointed we ended up choosing this one when the rains started. My advice? Rain or shine, avoid this place!"

"This place is a gem! The owner is so sweet and kind. She shared her family stories and explained the history behind her restaurant. Everything we ordered was made fresh and tasted absolutely amazing. This is truly a delightful place that even serves their sandwiches on their fresh made bread. You better get your breads, cookies and pastries fast because they sell out. We will definitely visit again when we visit the area in the summer. Thank you again for the cookies for the grand babies. They ate them up and had cute chocolate smiles."

"A disappointing meal. Aqua Terra has declined from the era when Clark Day oversaw the cuisine. We had a party of 4 who had 3 drinks, no appetizers, and no dessert, but the bill with tip was well over 200.00. That would be acceptable, but the food was poor to fair at best. Lamb was tough and gristly; scallops and risotto were lukewarm. Ambience: what's with the wait staff all in denim uniform? This is supposedly one of Kingston's upper end restaurants, not Home Depot. Also, if you are going to require business casual , how about enforcing it. Our server was fine. We won't be coming back in the near future which is too bad."

"Ok! I get passionate about excellence with food and great service. Toast and Jam hits the highest marks on EVERY front. The moment we walked in the door the staff were so friendly and professional. Everything on the menu is local to the area and sooo fresh. I highly suggest the french toast w/fresh whipped cream and candied pecans served with Canadian Maple Syrup. 'The Fry' plate was also spectacular w/ 3 eggs, beautifully seasoned potato wedges, mushroom pieces, apple/pork sausage and homemade brown beans..oh ya and bakery bread toast, this meal was off the charts. Thank you Brandon and Emily for stellar service. Public service announcement..it is advisable if not absolutely necessary to go into the associated and connected bake shop next door. I will review it later. THANK YOU 'TOAST & JAM' for raising the bar."
