Really nice, big, juicy burgers. I never had a burger with peanut butter before but it was magnificent. Super nice atmosphere and staff. The fries were nice and fluffy too. They also have one of my favorite comfort foods; grilled cheese with tomato. View all feedback.
What Steven Marterer doesn't like about Doug's Pretty Good Pub:
Doug turned us away just because we were wearing the wrist bands from the local beer festival. I had high hopes for this place, to enjoy a nice local establishment but the owner showed his true colors that they are not friendly to people outside of town.If you are not a local, turn away. I don't often come to the Cold Spring, but after a day of hiking in the nearby Hudson Highlands State Park this is the place to recharge. The tongue-in-cheek evaluation of Voted best burgers in town by a guy who likes burgers, leave two things: 1) This place is unpredictable and 2) You got fucking good burgers. Both are true. With 9 burgers from Pattys, which are formed and seasoned in the house there is one for you. If not, there are some other options. Large beer selection. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. This is the best jewel in the Cold Spring Krone.
This place is my favorite restaurant. Of all the restaurants, I know I like it most. I always suggest my friends go to this restaurant. Whenever I want to go to a special lunch, this is the place that immediately comes to my mind. Great and all kinds of food and a rich kitchen. generous team and good mood. Payment is also important. I suggest this restaurant without hesitation.
Happened upon by accident. Didn’t have outdoor seating, but they had hamburgers, which my son loves! We both got the Doug’s Pretty Good Burger, plain w just lettuce and tomato added. It’s probably been said a million times, but it was pretty good! The food was fresh and hot when served and the bun was an English muffin. Would recommend and return!
I apologize for the bad lighting on the burgers. We stumbled to this place late in the evening and we were very happy with the choice. The staff is incredibly friendly. We had our baby son with us and they worked hard to take us and treat us well. The burgers are great and unique. They are served in English muffins, adding their charm. We ordered the Golf Coast Burger (has sweet peppers and mild spicy Mayo) and Nutty Hog. The latter was a novel creation with peanut butter (yes, that is correct) and bacon. At first we didn't know what to expect, but the flavors work simple and not overwhelm each other. Your fries were also great. We're definitely coming back. They also like funny jokes as shown on the back of the menu.
Great food, beer, and atmosphere! Cool old style tavern feel. A go-to place whenever I'm in Cold Spring or getting off the trail at breakneck or anthony's nose.
