Everything was great, the ambiance is sooo nice but the desert was very ordinary. The fried dough balls in honey and walnuts had very little taste except for the honey, they were surprisingly plain. View all feedback.
What PeterB doesn't like about Kyma:
Service was terrible sat at the bar for an hour while there were available tables, went to the host to ask her and the manager about sitting she outright lied and said you told me you wanted to stay at the bar, the bartender sat at the end of the bar all night talking had to ask busboys to get her attention 3 times, waiter was excellent but food average at best, I go to Kyma frequently in the city but will never go t... Atmosphere was perfect, the lit up candles lightened the whole mood. The design of the place makes it feel like a beachy fancy restaurant, exactly like what I would imagine in Greece. the Service was wonderful. Appetizers were flavorsome and had such a great rich taste to it. Kyma chips had a texture that I found so intriguing. The watermelon salad was a different unique flavor to it I guess, with sweet combined with a little salty in the few nuts and veggies. Main courses were not as good as the appetizers but still not too bad nonetheless. We had the seafood linguini, salmon, chicken, etc. the salmon and chicken were a little too dry for our liking.

Way too crowded It's not elite Just tables are too close Staff is busy busy and no attention span.
We walked out after being totally mistreated and rudely being interviewed by management during the seating process. For a high end establishment that was highly recommended to us , we were literally shocked at the CONDESCENDING behavior of the Manager who literally looked us up and down debating whether to seat us or not. Management is RACIST, RUDE and Disrespectful and I would never patronize an establishment that treats thier clients this way. We were so offended that we are planning to take this further with the BBB and other agencies to address the behavior of management that we witnessed.
Was quite a disappointing experience. We went to lunch to celebrate my mother's 87 unfortunately one of the dishes was served with a long black hair in it. clearly it did not belong to one of us. The weight staff was very nice and took the dish back immediately and offered up something else. My brother was pretty disgusted at that point and lost his appetite so he just asked for a fruit platter. Ruined the meal for the rest of us as we kept looking for hair in our own dishes it does make you lose your appetite when something like that happens. You would think the restaurant would at least compass a dessert or a cuppa coffee, but they did none of that. Literally, the only compensation was a small plate of fruit to make up for my brothers un meal. I expect this from the diner, but not from Kyma. One of my favorite places on Long Island to eat just got demoted.
