This is one of the few places to eat slightly stylized local cuisine and the food is good. The house the restaurant is in is well renovated and attractive. It's a great place to get away from giant hunks of meat but still eat something regional. It's definitely worth going if you are in the area so you can try something a bit different. Reading all of these reviews after dining at Bastimento I am wondering if maybe it was just a bad night things happen, right? A really nice menu with local flavors interwoven, and certainly, they know meat. Our steaks were tough, over cooked and not particularly hot. When the weather is pleasant you can also eat outside, and there's a counter where you can sit down and enjoy. The seat / dining area invites you to linger and extensively indulge, and for your baby or toddler, there is a child's chair. In the dining hall, larger assemblies can find space to eat.
