"Go to Soileau's!. I loved this place. I brought my family here a few days ago and things were perfect! There was a huge table in the back room and the floor was loaded, but our waitress was great and food didn't take too long. It took about 30 min, but that is expected. We never had to ask for refills and we LOVED the old feel of the place. I ordered the stuffed peppers, and they were great. The food comes in huge servings and has the home-made taste. Eat at Soileaus!"

"Had dinner at Cafe Evangeline a few nights ago with friends and we all really enjoyed this restaurant. We each thought the food we ordered was excellent. Very nice ambiance. We had great service and enjoyed chatting with Jake, the owner. Prices were extremely reasonable. We received our orders promptly. My wife and I had crabmeat stuffed trout and crab cakes; both excellent. Our only disappointment was the lack of a meaningful wine selection. The only Chardonnay choice, for example sells for five dollars a bottle on-line (yep, we looked it up on the spot! . Granted, a glass was only five dollars but I'd rather pay twice that or more, as most restaurants charge, for a nice middle of the road wine like J. Lohr, Kendall Jackson, Chalk Hill, etc. Jake thanked us for coming when we were leaving which I always appreciate. Will definitely be making the drive there again."

"They have the best hamburgers around Opelousas and have been around, to by knowledge, since the 1940s (World War 2 era). It used to be a take out only place at the time when i was a kid and we used to buy hamburgers and chicken here back when I visited my grandmother (she died in January of 2009). I was visiting Lafayette and came down to Opelousas to eat here because I remember how delicious the food was. One thing I noticed is they added the dining room which is very nice and the food is still the best ever, exactly like it tasted when I was a kid and when my dad was a kid. No trip to Opelousas is complete without stopping and eating here. This is one of my favorite places along with Soileau?s. The service here is very friendly and the atmosphere with 1950s music is wonderful."
