What Kathy Halajian doesn't like about Clanton's Cafe:
Everything was fine. Food was very good. Had to wait awhile to get food. Nothing was above or beyond as far as food, atmosphere or experience. Just average, good local food Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2 View all feedback.
Clantons was clean, the service was fast and friendly, and the food was exactly what we ordered. We tried the calfs, chickens roasted steak and a slice of lemon melissa. Everything was good and in place with cafe-style food. I had nothing I didn't have better somewhere else, but it's definitely a funny little stop when you're on Route 66.
The service was AMAZING! The GFK was perfect. If you are looking for a classic breakfast in a wood-paneled diner with neat old pictures and an always decorated cup of coffee, this place will make your heart happy.
This place is worth the stop. I ordered a root beer. Then I asked the waitress if the onion rings were real onion rings. She thought and through my question for a moment. Then she smiled and said our onion rings when you bite, then an onion can come out of her crispy ring bowl. You're not pasty? I smiled and ordered some with one of their famous hamburgers a simple burger with salad tomato onion and grilled mushrooms on it. This meal was fantastic. It was like an old Hamburger stand. You also have cakes. I was so full that I brought my cake back to the hotel room. The next morning I had my coconut cream cake for breakfast let me say it was so mother good.. This place is really worth the stop. Notice that it can take the food a little to get? But be patient they are a small local food café and they are busy. The food is worth it!
I had her calfries! It was so good, cooked right! You can't get any good calf stories like that everywhere! I will definitely be back for more!
Classic Rt 66 diner with a great menu. We've visited twice, first I had the Chicken Fried Chicken, the chicken was delicious and juicy. second time I got the Chicken Fried Steak, it was as freshly made as possible, actually had to wait a few minutes to let it cool. the wait was worth it, one of the best I've ever had. the sides are well made and tasty but DAMN that CFS. GOOD stuff. on the second visit we went on a Saturday afternoon, the place was packed, one booth available~! the staff knocked it out of the park with fast friendly service.. we will be back.
