What User doesn't like about Island House Marina:
However, if the oysters or flounder served on the sandwiches were tasty, it was lost in the stale buns. Seafood served on dry buns accompanied with 1 piece lettuce and a thin slice of tomato. No cocktail or tarter sauce. We complained. Their response “ we’re sorry, we won’t serve the sandwiches this way again as they handed us the bill. What about the quality of our meal? No answer. We paid and left. View all feedback.

I had the seafood island house with cole Slav and green bean also excellent.
Wonderful view, delicious oysters and shrimp. Our waiter, Richard, was great. An excellent find while touring the Eastern Shore of Virgini.
Stopped on our way down to NC and loved it so much we stopped on our way back! The first time they had a crab bisque that was to die for (please can I have recipe We had oysters raw and fried that were so tender, burgers that were perfectly made and fries that were so crunchy. Sweet tea was perfect as was deserts. I wish I brought home some of Becca’s blueberry island cake. But would really like that soup recipe! Will definitely go back if I’m ever down that way again

I so want to give a better review, but can't do it in good conscience. We have been stopping here for about 15 years on our way from Connecticut to the Outer Banks, and we love the marshy, watery off-the-beaten-track setting and the simple, fresh seafood. The prices have sky-rocketed, and OK, I won't blame them for that these days, but the food was really just average. $24 for one bland crab cake? My broiled scallops 32) were such an odd texture and color that I wondered if they had gone under the broiler from frozen. To be fair, my husband did say that his fried flounder was fresh and delicious, so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing, but at those prices everything should be great. We would still go back again because this is a special place, but we might sit at the bar and order appetizers and beers instead.
