"This is a perfect picture of a small-town Saskatchewan store. Squeaky door, linoleum worn through in patches to the wooden substructure, aged food display cases, rustic washroom...But forget all that because you have arrived at a gem of a bakery. The owners are up at 3 or 4 to prepare an impressive assortment of breads, goodies, pastries, buns, and so on.Be sure to have a fresh yeast donut. The fritters are good. Anything made with cinnamon is good. The poppy seed roll has too much drizzled sugar, but it is OK. I scrape off most of the icing.To have lunch there is an inexpensive experience.We travel through Wadena to places far away and always stop.Closed Mondays (last time we tried to go)."

"New owners have made this place fantastic and turned a small town dump (Hendon bar) in to some place worth going to (bar name has been changed since place has been sold. It is now the Whiskey Dog) Great burgers to boot! Awesome place to grab a cold one or to have a good meal. I like that they offer take out, this is fantastic for the farming community and those who are too busy to make a good meal."
