The menu offers a good variety from meaty treats to vegetarian. Plenty of options for sharing or individual plates. There is a mixed entre which has lots of variety and could be a good main for those who find it hard to decide. The wine list is good and reasonably priced too.Only one problem - it seems to be a bit too common in Geelong- the service was slow due to the 3 waitresses hanging around the waiter in the bar... Contrary to the last reviews, my previous two dining experiences here with my elderly grandmother have been excellent. One was the day before the latest lockdown, and the other on Monday of this week. The food is consistently good cooked well and good portions for the price. Presented well. The fisherman’s basket can easily be shared between two people as a main. It’s a cut above standard pub seafood in terms of quality. Calamari is particularly good, as is the fish. The service is also very good. Staff are friendly, attentive and accomodating without being annoying. They do a good job and should be commended. I can’t imagine working in hospitality is easy at the best of times, let alone now. This is a good place to come, have a coffee, eat and chat in a comfortable environment. If I lived in Geelong, I’d take people here and come back regularly for family catch ups. Very “covid safe” too (clean and adhering to government regulations).
Food was alright but the service was laughable, nobody came to us at all except to take our first drink and food order, nobody came near us at all after that. We were there to have a few drinks and dinner before a movie, we both had one drink and that was it. Went to pay the bill and the waitress was behind the bar eating hot chips, unless this was a once off I won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
Of the four measles ordered the burger and fish and chips were good. Grilled Lamb salad was awful and didn't get eaten a photo on the tv screen showed a completely different presentation. Spaghetti bolognaise really unpleasant too. Won't be back.
We enjoyed lunch at this restaurant after seeing a film at the near by cinema. They had a range of Calzone on the menu. I choose the seafood calzone as I had not had one before. It was excellent. The service and the coffee were also very good.
The staffs are less and so need to be patient while waiting for them to take your order and serve your orders. BUt they will definitely follow sequence of guests. The breakfast portion is big and nice.
