This restaurant is a hidden gem in the area, run by a Japanese family with years of experience. We stumbled upon it accidentally on a rainy night while looking for a Chinese takeaway. While they do have Chinese dishes on the menu, we were drawn to the skilled sushi chef at work. We decided to change our order to sushi, noodles, and a bottle of sake, all at a reasonable price. The sushi, noodles, and sake were all excellent, and we particularly enjoyed the tempura vegetables. While the kids preferred the Chinese dishes, we found them to be average compared to the sushi and noodles. It's recommended to order ahead to avoid a wait, as everything is made fresh to order. They also have a good selection of Japanese beer. Delivery is available, but we prefer to dine in a week after ordering.
Living in London, Indochinese food has become a staple in my life, and I've tried it all. From Banana Tree to Wagamama to independent eateries, I've developed quite an expertise in the flavors of Asian cuisine. However, Soba is hands down the best independent restaurant I've tried in terms of flavor, portion size, and variety. Their home delivery service has caused my family to develop an addiction that may need intervention. Once you try Soba, all other takeout options pale in comparison. The food is fantastic, whether you dine in at the restaurant or order delivery. While the restaurant may not be the most visually appealing, it is clean and offers a relaxing atmosphere. My life wouldn't be the same without Soba – we find ourselves craving it at least once a week.
I am confused as to why there are no reviews for this restaurant. My experience with Soba has been consistently excellent over the past two years. The menu offers a variety of fusion meals like ramen, gyoza, katsu, bento, sushi, Chinese dishes, Thai dishes, and more. The portions are generous, the service is friendly and attentive, and the prices are better than similar restaurants like Wagamama. I recommend trying the sushi crunch, chili and pepper squid, and the broccoli. The restaurant is usually not crowded, but that may change after this review. They also do a great job of delivering food safely without compromising on taste.
