What User doesn't like about Flinders Rest Hotel:
I really wanted to like this place and like to support small businesses but unfortunately the food was very average. The carbonara was so full of cream I’m not even sure if it had eggs or Parmesan in it. The schnitzel was just deep fried...and very breadcrumbed and peeling it off revealed a very limp looking bit of chicken. The sausages and mash were just the cheap bulk sausages and Maggi gravy. We booked a couple hours before lunch for 12pm For a table of 6 plus a dog They were very accommodating, very friendly and to top it off great food! Could not fault anything ! We ended up asking for takeaway containers as the portions...were huge! They also explained that left overs go to the locals for their chickens etc
Great little pub, renos happening, it is going to be fabulous! So much history. Food was delicious, beer cold. Free camping out the back, with shower and toilet available if needed. Support these places, or they'll be gone for good! Thanks for having us Kirk!
