What Mark Vather doesn't like about D Light Cafe Bakery:
Nice atmosphere, not great food, worst shakshuka and gluten-free bread I have ever had. The gluten-free bread was crumbly, burnt, and tasted awful. The shakshuka wasn't hot enough to have raw egg in it, and had an almost gasoline-like scent. Also, they allow homeless people to come in and solicit customers. View all feedback.
Found customer service a little suspect. My order got ignored when someone they knew walked in. For a good minute. When they eventually remembered to send my order back (after a long conversation about trivia and some peppy phone number exchanges), the food was going to take time to cook. When I asked for a refund, they said I was rude and impatient That I should be comfortable waiting. What? I was in a hurry. There were two of us in there. Just like, pay attention to your customers haha. Quiche was pretty good, though
Read about this newely opened place in DCist and went for lunch to check out. Really loved it, unique flavours and friendly service. Overall recommend.
Fresh off the high of a negative COVID test, I decided to walk down the block and visit a new place. Right at the top of the hill in Adams Morgan, I saw this cute cafe that I’m pretty sure is new to the neighborhood.I opted for the chicken noodle soup, which I must say is AWESOME. The soup tastes great and is packed with noodles, vegetables, and chicken. They top it with a bit of olive oil, and it really makes for a quality dish.I also ordered the apple strudel tea, which was equally great! Its lightly sweet and rather tasty. All in all, this was a great experience. The wifi is fast and the service experience was great. I look forward to visiting this place again
Oh my wow oh wow. Foremost, I love bakeries. Love as in not one Saturday or Sunday goes by without me eating at one. And this might be the best one in all of DC (seriously). Their cottage cheesecakes (specifically the one with smoked salmon and mushrooms) is one of the most unique, delicious breakfast items I have ever eaten (EVER). It was so good the first time I ate here, I literally came back the next day for the same cheesecake (plus to try some pumpkin topped pancakes also delicious).Pastries are great here too. Drinks are very unique (can you say cappu-orange The people who work here (I think they are a family) are super warm and friendly. And the light filled and artistic space happiness to start your day.Go here. Eat the cottage cheesecake. Then come back. Again and again and again.
I wish we lived in DC so we could be regulars. Love the interior, vibes and service ! The staff were attentive and friendly. Food is delicious with great choice of breakfast and lunch items. The best croissant and cappuccino I’ve had ! Love this place!
