it was okay, not great - not terrible. chips were cold and tasty. salsa was good. I had brisket tacos who needed more taste. service was good.

"Definitely not worth the money spent. Ordered Turkey Avocado Cobb, in which I could hardly really hardly find any turkey and avocado. The dressing was nice, though. This is just another salad bar claiming to offer fancy healthy food. There are definitely better options out there."

"Lovely dinner. May be the best French Onion soup that I have eating. The baked oyster were also very nice, as were our entrees of duck and venison. My husband was very happy with this apple tart dessert. My only criticism was that my Grand Marnier soufflé was lacking in flavor with just a strong “egg” taste. We will return, but next time I will try the chocolate or raspberry soufflé."

"My wife and I celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary. We dined at 1789 to celebrate our union several times over the years. Our experience on Jan 14 2023 was excellent. Our server, Shantey, exhibited a superb understanding about each entree and made our dinner particularly memorable. She also explained how each item was prepared in a way that was easy to understand I highly encourage feasting at 1789."

"I can’t remember how many times I’ve been to Old Ebbitt’s over the last 20 plus years! First for exceptional business lunches then socially and for personal dinners. This has become one of my all time faves for their consistent products, service, quality and exceptional food. First off, this is my ‘go-to’ eatery for calves’ liver! If there is another location in the Metro DC Area that serves up a better rendition of this standard, I’ve yet to find it. Secondly, the results of visits where I and my party have had other menu items, have been nothing short of exceptional. In a recent visit we had their Filet Mignon with Spinach over Egg – an excellent approach to what otherwise may have been a simple dish, as starters we tried the Peruvian Empanadas – an excellent rendition of the Peruvian stuffed pastry, with flavorful seasonings and mouthwatering juiciness (take care not to spill the juice over yourself as this should be eaten with the hands – hard to do with a fork and knife), and finally the Seafood Jambalaya (Bouillabaisse Cajun-Style) – needless to say, outstanding. Although not the legitimate and traditional rendering, their take is fabulously tasty and fairly unique. Over the years I have tried almost everything they’ve had to offer, and am never dissatisfied. As you might think, I keep going back for more, and more, and more. Bon appétit!"

"We ordered Pho and we received the delivery in perfectly packed condition with fresh herbs and ingredients all clearly packed that day. This meal was excellent and very generous portion. I look forward to ordering more often, what a gem!! A+Food: 5/5"
