My wife's meal was fine (salmon), mine was ok. I got their ribs. There are places in the area who have much better ribs. We would go back since everything else was fine. My wife raved about their baked potato which could be a meal by itself. View all feedback.
What Stephen Cummerata doesn't like about Cool River Tavern:
We were super excited for this restaurant, but overall, it was mediocre. We ordered a bottle of wine for the table $76!!!! For a $15 bottle. Yikes. . I ordered a salad that was overwhelmingly sweet with a maple dressing. It was also overly dressed. Our food was ok—fries were lukewarm, salmon was ok, but the broccolini with garlic was ON POINT. Jim, our server, was cool. View all feedback.

The meal of my wife was good (salmon,) mine was okay. I have their ribs. there are places in the opposite that have much better ripening. we would go back since everything else was good. my wife shaved over her baked kartoffel, which could be even a meal.
Great service and delicious eating with a Texas concert I strongly recommend!
$130(with tip) was a bit excessive for 2 people. No soup was available.Bread came out cold.
This was our first time trying Cool River, which recently opened in the Embassy Suites. Years ago we had been to a restaurant at the same hotel for brunch. I remember the room that the restaurant was in before had nice windows and views onto a lawn area very pretty. This new restaurant however, is set up in the lobby area of the restaurant, with the high ceiling of the Atrium well above your head. There is a new bar that anchors one end of the restaurant, but otherwise no walls or separation from the main lobby. The positives service was excellent our waiter was friendly and checked on us often. The manager stopped by a few times as well. The food was prepared very well and was served timely and at the right temperature. My husband had the prime rib and enjoyed it very much. The menu had a nice selection of entrees. While they have tried to create ambiance, it just doesn't work. For the prices we paid, which are on the higher end, I would rather go somewhere that has some atmosphere and ambiance. We just couldn't get past that we were clearly in the lobby of a hotel. Noise level was higher than I would have liked as well. Not sure why they didn't set the restaurant up in the previous location of the restaurant which was a dedicated area, away from the hotel lobby.
