Crown Carvery The King's Arms - Wealden

After hearing recommendations from a few people, we decided to try out this restaurant. The food was delicious with a variety of options to choose from. We appreciated the baby plate for 99p, catering to families with young children. However, we were disappointed with the portion sizes for the carvery we ordered at £15.99 each. The meat portions were very small for the price, only receiving 2 thin slices of meat. The quality of the meat was good but there was not enough of it. Additionally, there was an unfriendly older lady behind the bar who lacked basic customer service skills. She did not smile and seemed intimidating. When I approached her to redeem my daughter's ice cream ticket, she simply handed me an empty bowl and walked away, leaving me confused about where to get the ice cream. Despite eventually finding the ice cream station, her lack of hospitality detracted from our overall experience at the restaurant.

I am thrilled to have found a place where I can bring my dog along when I dine. The food and service were both rated at 4 out of 5, while the atmosphere received a perfect score of 5.

We visited the restaurant to take advantage of the 50% off deal on burgers and pizzas. The burgers were great as always, and the vegetable supreme pizza was delicious, along with the pepperoni. The service was excellent, with polite and helpful staff who allowed us to bring our dog along. The location next to a park was very convenient. We also tried the carvery, but as a non-meat eater, I found the vegetable options to be lacking variety. The cauliflower cheese did not meet my expectations, possibly due to a change in the cheese used. I suggested adding a tray of roasted mixed vegetables or broccoli as alternatives. The breakfast was disappointing, with a rating of only 3 out of 10. However, we are happy with the deals offered, including 50% off burgers/pizzas and carvery. The beyond meat burger was a standout option. With prices under £20 for two people plus drinks, we found the value to be good. The service was consistently excellent, with friendly staff and clean facilities. Overall, we were pleased with the experience and would recommend signing up for deals to save on meals. The restaurant offers ample free parking in their lot.

It's great if you like that sort of thing. By which I mean a chain experience. Buffet breakfast, luke warm greasy bacon all stuck together, rubber eggs, stale coffee from an urn, one of those toasting machines you queue up for...etc. Clearly lots of people do because the place was heaving...with very uncouth types including one whose ringtone on his phone the c word being shouted at high volume and another who regarded cutlery as an optional extra.
