Shop front seating looking down Station Road over the Downs. On top of this the food is excellent, very well presented. The 'side salad ' is not just rocket leaves and a slice of tomato but so much more. Ask for it and see. Good large mug of coffee as well. Good service and prices. What 's not to like? If you can put up with traffic noise and pollution then there is seating outside. A great place to stop for lunch or... View all feedback.
What Alwaysonit doesn't like about The Bay Tree Cafe:
Popped in for a latte, it was very watery which was disappointing and hardly had any milk in it. Quite a few uncleared tables which still weren't cleared when more people arrived. View all feedback.
Popped in for lunch and enjoyed an excellent cheese and onion toastie with chips and salad. Could not fault the food. Pot of tea lovely and hot. Although busy, still managed the order well. Definitely recommend and will return. Prices are good.
Popped in here while on a bike ride. Friendly service, good coffee, bacon sandwich and Phil Collins in the background.
A lovely find. Free parking a 2minute walk away. Situated by a small roundabout. This was our first and not our last visit. We had a breakfast and poached egg on toast, coffee and a tea. Freshly cooked from an open kitchen, well presented with plenty of butter for my toast. Also my eggs were just perfect as I asked for them to be firm. Toilets clean. Good value for money.
We stopped here en route to a National Trust day out. We were looking forward to a cooked breakfast and the Bay Tree did not disappoint.I had the small cooked breakfast which is plentiful. The sausages are delicious and it was beautifully cooked. My daughter had the eggs benedict with a vegetarian sausage which looked wonderful. We would definitely visit again.
