accidentally came over on the way back from an icy walk in ashdown forest. the handlein had a live piano, a roaring log burner and the best Sunday roast we had in a long time. we even have to sit near the British royalty while we enjoy the music! all boxes are crossed. astonishing pub. will surely return. What GeoffLUL doesn't like about The Griffin Inn:
We expected an old English village pub and was not disappointed however we felt the atmosphere was flat. The staff on duty did their job and if it was a tick box exercise then they ticked the boxes, unable to add names as they never introduced themselves which does make a difference to guests whether staying at the hotel or just in for a meal and drinks.
