Very tasty and a beautiful ambience. The service is top. As an appetizer there was the seafood dish. Never had such a good appetizer, especially I was amazed at the oysters who tasted excellent. I like to come back. View all feedback.
What Anatoli Klemm doesn't like about La Cantina:
View all feedback.
Very nice Italian restaurant on the picturesque Weinheimer Marktplatz . The mountain road is also often referred to as Germany's Toscana, which is particularly felt here in Weinheim. Even early in March, almond trees, forsythias and magnolies flourish here and enchant with their scent and the airy, colorful flower dresses. On sunny warm days, starting in the very early spring and during the late autumn, you can almost feel fantastic in the outdoor area as in an Italian piazza. Last but not least that is why the places in all restaurants around the historic marketplacetes are desirable and you should reserve especially in the evening to not be disappointed. In the case of the ferrarese brothers, which lead the restaurant together, all those lovers of Italian cuisine will be joined, who expect more than just pizza and pasta, but there are also only some examples of delicacies, e.g. fried quails, filled pigeons, fish soup, rock mushrooms from the grill, lamb variations, various fish and seafood, filled pork feet, homemade Cassata............... supplemented by seasonal changing dishes duck, goose, ravioli filled with fresh walnuts, artichokes., rose-butted mousse.... Already when reading the menu, the water flowed in our mouth and we should not be disappointed. Although it was very cozy and stylishly furnished in the restaurant, modern art besides family photos, we decided to take place in the beautiful outdoor area of the restaurant. Comfortable basket braid chairs with thick seat cushions, large parasols and old trees with excavating tree crowns which gave us shadows, here read well. So we enjoyed this evening: mixed antipasti plate varied from the filled Sepia to Bruschetta to Vitello tonato many small delicacies. Rabbit Toscana swollen rabbit with vegetables and garlic in tomato/wine sauce with homemade pasta and salad delicious delicate rabbits, great seasoned perfectly fresh bar-saving gel with roasted duck breast and castle potatoes super. At the end, it had to be my absolute favorite dessert Zabaglione, especially as this wonderful ital. Wine cream not found on the menu at any Italian is served here fresh. The Zabaglione came still slightly warm and was served with ice cream and fresh berry fruits a dream My beloved had chosen homemade tiramisu, with 2 Espressi forming the culinary conclusion of this beautiful, warm spring evening. Tutto fantastico.
I am quite surprised about the wide spread of reviews. Since we live closeby this place we come here fairly often, sometimes we also do family events like birthday dinners here. They have a huge selection of food outside the normal menu, it is all...written up on chalkboards, hanging on the wall. On top they always have fresh produce of the day they will offer as special dishes. It is hard to find a place that is more accomodating to your food needs. They prepare one off dishes on request and the chef is happy to discuss the possibilities. Occassionally you will be surprised with free small dishes or free dessert, even though you can't count on it. The food quality is mostly very good, and we had only one occasion where we weren't happy and the food was just OK. We gave them the feedback and they responded to it immediately. I do acknowledge that others apparently had bad experiences there, but statements that there was onyl a choice of meet vs. fish are utter BS. There are dozenns of dishes on top of the menu every single day of the week. That's a fact. Prices are definietly in the mid range here, if you are looking for a simple pizzs or spaghetti for EUR, this isn't your place. Their wine list on the other hand is very reasonably priced and you get a really good bottle of wine for bucks
We dined here as part of a large business group. And normally when you have a huge group you can forgive elements of service slowing down. The service here was fine. The food however was utter swill. A mixed plate starter that looked and felt...like using what was left. The choice of main course... meat or fish. Not pizza, not pasta, not carpaccio. Meat or fish The meat was awful. Salty, greasy, almost inedible. The worst Italian meal I’ve ever had. I had small slices of carrot, a scattering of naff potato and the meat. Zero Italian anything about it. Was a school dinner from hell. Dreadful
Excellent Food, fine designed by the Chef. ....not just standard pizzas, but good fish dishes, salate , spaghetti wifh delicious sauces .... Great Ambiente . Moderate prices . Very good service Nice in Winter and even nicer in Summer when you can sit outside
When you want something to drink or something to eat you can choose this place. Nothing special but you will not waste your time and money by this choice
